Welcome to the
WRVS-Royalton Campus Library!

Dear Families,

Students in elementary class are practicing our library routines and book care strategies. We are also learning how to pick books that are a good fit for us and our interests, reading level, and personal values. Please check in with your student about what they are reading to support healthy literacy choices and to promote a love of reading. If your child has picked a book that is not a good fit, try asking them how they made their book choice. Each family will have different expectations around reading choices. If you have specific family needs, please let me know so I can help guide your student to books that fit for your family.

Happy reading!
Ms. Lucia

The primary purpose of the WRVS- Royalton Campus Library is to encourage, promote, and support literacy skills across the curriculum and through leisure reading.

Primary grades Kindergarten through fifth grade meet once a week for lessons and book check out. Each class reads a short book or passage followed by an activity related to literacy and library skills. Students also learn how libraries are organized and how to find books, research skills, technology skills, and digital literacy skills.

High School students access the library as needed before school and throughout the school day. Students can check out books for leisure reading or research. Research skills and support are offered through collaboration with classroom teachers and the librarian, as well as individually at students' request.
